What the heck are we doing?

YouStart.Us, or You Start Us (clever... we know), is breaking old paradigms and creating new paths for organizations and ventures that previously were sailing their ships with anchors down. It is time for change, time for creativity, and time to quit letting all the big dogs rule the pack. Let's face it... pugs need love too.

Professionally, most would take a look at our website and say "hey look stick figures, loose language, and Twitter oh my!" Sure, entrepreneurs would say this isn't the way to go about starting a company, but we're not trying to appeal to the usual crowd of business consultants, entrepreneurs, and the like. If we're going to fundamentally change the way ventures and organizations get off the ground we need to be bold and set an example.

At its core You Start Us is ultimately about you. That's right, the one who made it to the third paragraph where we finally give some obscure description of what we're doing. We're enabling you as an individual, the ability to have a stake in an organization that you actually care about and want to succeed. You Start Us is a platform that enables you to invest in companies and be part of the process that is usually left to small, but powerful (they would call themselves "influential") investment groups. Our platform also enables start ups and small businesses the means to finance their initiatives through a community of passionate users. Now those investment folks are looking at our earthy tones and thinking what the hell are these hippies thinking?

We would like to be honest and have an open dialogue about what we're doing. We're not trying to stick it to the man or anything of the sort. We are making a bold move to offer an alternative means of financing ventures and also empower the average individual to directly take hold of their financial interests.
